He is Executive Vice President, Emeritus, of the NRECA, and the immediate past chair of the National Cooperative Bank Board of Directors. Dr. Lowery was inducted into the Cooperative Hall of Fame in May 2014, the highest honor that the U.S. cooperative community bestows on individuals who have made heroic contributions to the cooperative movement. He is currently the elected U.S. representative to the board of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA). Dr. Lowery received a bachelor’s degree (cum laude) from DePaul University and a Ph.D. in philosophy from Duke University.
